Nadiya began her riding career and love for horses, at the young age of 3 years old. When Nadiya was around 5, she started competing in Leadline classes and went on to win champion of that show season. She continued riding and competing in Hunter Jumper and Equitation throughout her childhood and teenage years. However, Nadiya took a few years off from riding and competing, but her passion for horses and animals remained.
During her time off from riding, Nadiya began working as a small animal Emergency Veterinary Assistant. Excelling in veterinary medicine, Nadiya became an Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Technician, teaching others, helping run the Intensive Care Unit, and administering anesthesia for emergency surgeries. During her 8 years in veterinary medicine, Nadiya found her passion caring for animals and helping them recovery from illness and injury. From her rescued hound-mix, Gilligan, to her warmblood gelding, Rye, Nadiya has continued to be fervent about helping animals recover.
Nadiya rescued her horse Rye and began nursing him back to health through malnourishment, Strangles, equine protozoal myeloencephalitis (EPM), Lymes, and other things along the way. Once her horse was medically cleared to start rehabilitation, Nadiya started riding him. Due to Rye having been treated for EPM and Lymes, his rehabilitation was different from others. Nadiya decided to stop riding Rye, take a step back, and figure out what he needed. During this time, Nadiya had massage therapy done regularly on her horse. Seeing the impact massage therapy had on Rye’s daily life, Nadiya became determined to get Certified in Equine Sports Massage Therapy through Equip-Pair. Once the training was complete, Nadiya began to incorporate Sports Massage Therapy into Rye’s rehabilitation regiment. Witnessing hands-on how far Rye had come with his rehabilitation and massage therapy, Nadiya felt she could help others. Thus, Spodivatysya Equine Recovery began!
With Nadiya’s background in horseback riding competitions, she’s always considered horses to be athletes. Every Athlete deserves the chance to develop and perform to its best abilities, whether that being in competition season, recovering from an injury, out on a trail, or while in retirement. From a normal routine massage to a horse that is having performance issues, each massage is tailored to that horse’s specific needs. Once cleared by a veterinarian, to make sure it’s not a medical issue, Nadiya is unique in the way she can help clients that are having difficulties with their equine partner. By helping the client look at their equine partners from different aspects such as, diet, riding regimen, environment, mental health, and muscular pain. Nadiya strives to make sure she does her absolute best to help clients and their equine partners in any way she can - that is just who she is!
